DEAD BUT ALIVE

DEAD BUT ALIVE

Staring up at the ceiling, Rose tried to block the voices coming from the back of her head. She was really tired of all the noises. She got up, and walked to the balcony. When she opened the door, a cool chilling wind gently touched her face as if it was greeting her. She responded to the welcoming breeze by resting her hands on the edge of the catwalk, and admiring the beautiful lovely view in front of her.

It was 4:00 in the morning, the winter sky was still dark. She looked at the busy street below no one seems to be at rest in New York. Her apartment was on the 12th floor. She knew they could hear her thoughts as they always did. There was just one way to get rid of them, and she wanted to do it so badly.

Trying not to think about it, but to focus on the voices that were talking about slashing someone’s throat for fun.

Without giving it a second thought, she took a deep breath, and jumped off the balcony. As her body was falling down, she smiled, thinking everything will soon be over. Suddenly her smile vanished, she was pulled up by a strong force then slammed through the balcony’s glass door, shattering it to pieces. She found herself back again inside her apartment.

Pain shot through her whole body when the same force slammed her against the wall. She heard him, the most dangerous of them all, growl in anger inside her head.

He lifted her in midair against the wall, her heart was racing in her chest because she knew what was coming next.

He started choking her, her body few inches above the ground, her eyes rolled up to the back of her head, she couldn’t find her voice to scream. Her body started shaking in pain, tears streaming down her cheeks, and the pain was increasing as she heard her bones cracking. Then he dropped her to the ground, and got out.

“You think you can just get away like that?” Kai’s voice filled with anger as it pierced her ears.

He was as dangerous as his name; Kai a ‘wolf demon’, but the soul in front of her wasn’t a wolf. For her, it was just a demon.

She stayed on the ground, the pain was unbearable, her tears never stopped falling. She flinched as she felt Kai’s hand grabbing her arm fiercely, and dragging her to her bed. He picked her up, and threw her on the bed.

He looked her close in the eyes, “If you try to pull your little stupid stunt again, I will kill everyone you love,” he growled at her in anger.

She looked straight into his pure silver moon-like eyes. He was around 6’5, his sharp features perfectly suited his aura that screamed Alpha. No wonder his name was Kai because he was really gorgeous.

“Listen, Rose, it’s for your own good to listen to us. Don’t you dare do that again. Now go to sleep sweetheart,” his voice held such darkness, and warning.

A shiver ran down her spine, and she quickly nodded at him. She noticed that the others were quite as they watched everything, until Kai was gone in a blink of an eye.

As the pain came crashing down on her bones, she was, once again, lifted up in the air, and then dropped down on the bed. She laid there like a marionette with tired, and burning eyes as they forced her to sleep.

Three hours later, Rose woke up as she heard loud laughter booming inside her head. She clutched her hair “SHUT UP!!!” she screamed while closing her eyes shut.

“Calm down love, calm down,” she heard one of the voices inside her head say.

Her eyes watered, as she remembered the things they did to her father.

***

Five year old Rose was crying, calling out for her father. James came running into her room, and saw her lying on the floor, clutching her knees to her chest, her eyes red, and swollen from crying. Seeing her like that broke his heart.

He rushed, picked her up, and placed her on his lap as he sat on the ground.

“What happened, Rosa?” he asked in a calm, and warm voice hiding his panic.

“I heard them dad, they are here in my room, they were talking to me,” Rose cried in her dad’s arms.

“Did you see them?”

“No, but I hear them all the time. They are always here dad,” she said, clutching her dad’s arm hard, not wanting him to leave her alone.

“Rosa, baby, don’t cry. It’s okay, I’m here,” he said with watering eyes, as he looked at his little girl’s face.

She looked a lot like her mother; her black curly hair, her pale skin, her big amber eyes… everything in her reminded him of his wife.

“Dad, how did Mommy go to heaven?”

James heart was aching as he remembered that day.

He remembered the day Rose was born. Standing outside the emergency room, where the screams of his wife were tearing him apart, he banged on the door, begging them to let him in to hold her hands.

“Let him in!” Lauren, his wife shouted.

Rushing towards her, he held her hand in his, and kissed her forehead, before bending down on his knees beside her bed. He truly loved her so much.

He wanted to take her pain away, as he saw her scream, and tighten her grip on his hands.

“It’s okay baby, just few more pushes,” he told her with a cracking voice.

“Lauren, I want you to try to push harder, ok?” The doctor told her.

Lauren tried, she screamed from the top of her lungs. James was crying silently beside her, holding her hand, and kissing it. Then, he closed his eyes, and rested his head on their collided hands.

Lauren’s screaming was slowing down as the hold on her husband’s hands was loosening. He looked at her in sorrow, and saw tears streaming down her eyes.

“I love you!” she said in a low voice, smiling at him.

“Lauren, just a little more, the baby is almost out,” the doctor said.

The sound of the heart monitor was beeping loudly in his ears, but the panicked voices of the doctors running around, and telling Lauren not to close her eyes were the most distressing.

James stared at his wife as she gasped for air, and her eyes rolled at the back of her head. The monitor’s beeping was so fast, and loud. James tightened his grip on her hand as he heard the doctor’s voice.

“Lauren, you have to stay awake, or the baby will die, Lauren, keep your eyes open,” the doctor said with sad eyes.

James gripped Lauren’s chin slightly, turning it towards him. They held each other’s gaze, which made Lauren smile at him.

“Baby, don’t close your eyes, please stay with me, stay with me,” James voice cracked as he screamed for her to stay awake, his heart pounding in his chest was getting louder.

Few moments later, the crying of the baby echoed as he stood up looking at Lauren with a big smile on his face.

Lauren looked so much in pain, but still managed to put a big smile on her face.

“Lauren, baby, we have a princess now,” tears were flowing from their eyes as the nurse brought the baby daughter to them, placing her beside her mother.

Lauren started crying happily, “I love you both so much, I’m sorry…” These were her last words.

It was at that moment the monitor made a long beep, and James dropped to his knees holding her hand in his. The baby was still beside dead Lauren, so the doctor took her, and let James sit there holding his wife’s hand, and weeping.

His world had crashed in just few seconds. He was in so much pain, but all he knew was that his life was now all for his little baby girl. He named her Rose as they had decided when she was pregnant.

***

Rose remembered the crying of her dad when he told her this story. She missed him so much, tears started glowing in her eyes.

She looked at the clock. If she didn’t start to get ready now, she would be late for college.

When she tried to get up, a painful scream came out of her mouth, and she fell on the bed again. Her body was aching so much because of what Kai did to her last night.

She managed to get up, and made her way to the bathroom. She took her clothes off, stepped in, and turned the shower on. She felt a bit relaxed as hot water ran through her bruised body. Her heart sank when she noticed them, and she could feel her soul dying a little bit more; a feeling that she got used to live with every day.

After a long 30 minutes shower, she pulled up a black ripped jeans, and a turtle neck long sleeves top. It was all she needed to cover the bruises. She dressed up, and stood in front of the mirror.

She looked at herself; her face was so pale, and her right cheek was blue, and bruised on the corner. She took out a tube of foundation from a small bag on the table below the mirror.

She dabbed the foundation on her skin trying to hide all the bruises. Her eyes looked as dead as her soul. She took some more foundation, and started to apply it on the skin below her eyes which were red from crying. After taking a good look at herself, making sure that everything looked normal, she took her bag, and walked out of the room towards the door.

Ignoring the voices in her head, she looked around the apartment which was a mess from last night’s events. The shattered glass of the balcony’s door was everywhere around her.

“Aren’t you going to eat?” She heard Kai’s voice in her head.

“I don’t want to,” she replied full of anger, and disgust.

“You have to keep yourself healthy,” Kai said calmly.

“Why? So you can beat me up again?”

“It was your fault,” Kai growled.

“Piss off!” Rose said, walking out the door. Trying so hard to block their threatening voices.

“If you don’t eat, I’m going to come out, and feed you myself,” Kai said, his voice sounded angry.

“Fine, I’ll get a coffee,” she said, not wanting to feel the pain again.

They never liked it, when she tried to skip a meal, and she knew that. If her body got weaker, they did too because they lived inside her.

Standing in front of the elevator waiting for it to open, Rose pulled her phone out of her pocket, and stared at the wallpaper picture. It was the last picture of her, and her father, both smiling, and looking at the camera with birthday caps on their heads. It was her sixteenth birthday when her world crumbled down.

As the elevator’s doors opened, she made her way in. She saw a little girl with her mom. When they saw her, they smiled at her so she smiled back, and walked to stand behind them.

“Wouldn’t it be funny if we stuck the mother’s head between the elevator’s doors? Then watch her body goes down, and her head goes up,” a voice she was familiar with, said in her head.

Shaking her head, she tried to calm herself down to avoid yelling at them to shut up.

“Come on now Rosie, wouldn’t it be fun?” He said again.

Rose just stood there in melancholy, desperately wanting the elevator to reach the ground floor. She looked at the numbers changing, showing what floor they were on. When it got to the eighth, the door opened, and a man walked in. His eyes locked with hers as he walked, and stood beside her.

“Isn’t he hot Rosie? Forget about the mother, and let’s kill him,” this time; it was Kai’s voice.

Rose’s head was throbbing so hard because of all the voices inside it.

“He is staring at you,” Kai said. Rose looked up, and indeed, he was staring at her. He gave her a charming smile, which she returned back.

Finally, the door opened, and Rose rushed out.

She took her phone, pretending to be on a call, so she could speak to the voices in her head, without being suspected of being crazy.

“Will you shut up? Stop it Zach!” Rose said, bringing her phone to her ear.

“Ah aren’t you smart!” Zach replied.

Zach was someone who liked to kill people for no reason. If he didn’t like them, he killed them. His history was filled with killing when he was alive, and even after his death.

She checked the time on her phone, it was 9:45 am. She still had enough time to get something to eat, and walk to her college that was 30 minutes away.

The truth was that she had a car, but since the day she drove into the pool due to the distracting voices in her head, they told her to walk to her college, and she had to do it, or they would kill her best friend Kelly.

As she walked, she saw how everyone was living their lives normally. Friends laughing, and walking together, kids waiting for the school bus, cars passing by… she couldn’t help, but smile.

Her eyes caught a young couple holding hands as the guy kissed the girl’s forehead. Rose’s heart leaped at the sight of them. She wanted something like that, someone to love her, someone to take care of her. She was craving love so much especially that she has always been alone except for the monsters in her head.

Memories of high school came crashing down on her. She remembered her boyfriend, the first time he asked her out, the first time they held hands, the first time they went to watch a movie, the first time they kissed… he loved her so much, and she loved him too. She loved his blonde silky hair, and grey eyes. He was beautiful, Archer was so beautiful.

She walked to the coffee shop around the corner of the street, she was still thinking about Archer, and her heart was aching. She got inside, and placed her order, a black coffee, and a chocolate muffin, and went to take a seat on the last booth beside the large glass window.

“He is dead,” Zach said laughing.

“You killed him,” Rose said, looking out the window with tears in her eyes. She missed Archer so much.

A Waiter came with her order, and placed it in front of her. She took a sip of her coffee. Then opened her phone, and started staring at her boyfriend’s picture, admiring his beautiful smile.

Walking inside her school, Rose looked around; the walls were filled with banners, and stickers for their junior prom, hearts were hanging on lockers, big blue pink banner saying ‘junior prom’ was hanging down the ceiling, students were walking down the hall talking, and laughing… Suddenly, a pair of arms pulled her in a tight hug.

“Rose!!!!!!, Guess who asked me for the dance?” Kelly asked, pulling back, and jumping happily.

Kelly was really pretty, literally a sweetheart. Her amber eyes could really make you lose focus, and go deep inside them, she always liked to dramatically flip her long blonde hair in a cute way. She was simply so perfect that boys always flirted with her. However, she wasn't a mean girl. Despite being pretty popular, she was nice to everyone.

“Who?”

“I said guess, Rose. Come on, show some excitement,” Kelly said, holding Rose's shoulder, and shaking her.

“Okay, okay let me guess, um Jeff?”

“Nope,” Kelly said with a big smile on her face.

“Charlie,” Rose said, reaching for her locker, and opening it. Then, she started taking some books out.

“Nooo, come on Rose, you are my best friend, you should know that I’m not into junior guys,” Kelly said, huffing.

Rose raised an eyebrow at her as she saw a goofy grin on Kelly’s face.

“Are you kidding me? Alex Jackson?” Rose said surprised, and shocked.

“Yesssss!! ‘The Alex Jackson’,” Kelly laughed happily, doing a weird dance in the hallway.

“OMG! Kelly you are going to the dance with Alex Jackson aka the high school sweetheart?” Rose was so happy for Kelly.

Alex was Kelly’s crush. He was the high school sweetheart, and one of the school’s football team. Just like the rest of the team members, he was super-hot, and famous.

“Yes I’m going to the dance with the one, and only Alex Jackson,” Kelly hugged Rose again, and started spinning them both in the hallway. Rose started laughing along with Kelly when they heard the students around them laughing at their crazy attitude. She actually didn’t care because they were all her friends.

“Okay Kelly, let me go, I can’t breathe,” Rose said, laughing.

Kelly pulled back, and opened her locker which was next to Rose’s, that’s where they first became friends.

“You are coming to the dance, right?”

“Ah… no, I don’t think so. It’s been a rough time,” Rose said, missing her father.

“Rose, you have to get over it, please. I don’t want you to block out everything, it’s not good for you.”

They don’t know what happened to her dad. The media mentioned it as an accident.

“If you are not going, I’m not going either,” Kelly said with a little smile on her face.

Kelly was so excited for this day, and Rose didn’t want to ruin it for her. In fact, she knew if she wouldn’t go Kelly wouldn’t either.

“Okay, fine, I will go,” Rose said, thinking that it would be a good opportunity to forget about everything for a while. So the party would be good, and fun.

“Are you sure? We don’t have to if you don’t want to.”

“No, we are going to the dance, ok?” Rose said with a broad smile.

The voices in her head were talking to her, but she chose to ignore them.

As they were talking to each other, standing in front of their open lockers, Rose looked behind Kelly, and saw that the whole football team was walking towards them. Rose quickly turned to her locker, pretending to be busy.

She saw large arms wrap around Kelly’s waist as Alex pulled her in a hug. Rose couldn’t help, but smile when the whole football team started whistling at them.

She felt a presence beside her. There, right next to her, Archer Jensen smiling widely.

Archer, and Alex were more than just best friends, they were like brothers. If one went down, the other would go down too. The whole football team members considered each other as family.

Rose raised an eyebrow at him, “What?”

“Nothing,” she could hear the smile in his voice.

“Why are you smiling at me like that?” Rose asked, trying not to smile.

“I smile at everyone Rose,” he said. Rose loves the way he calls her name, it gives her butterflies in her stomach.

“Okay,” she got closer to her locker, trying to hide her blush.

“You look beautiful when you blush,” Archer whispered in her ear with a little smirk on his face.

Rose bit her lip, trying not to smile at his comment. She was blushing even more as he embarrassed her with his words. So, she hid her face deeper in her locker. When Archer was about to say something, the ringing of the bell cut him off.

Even though she was relieved, she wanted to know what he was going to say. Closing her locker, she looked at him, and saw that he was staring at her. She smiled briefly, and walked past him.

“Listen Rose,” Archer called from behind. From the other side, she saw her best friend running towards her, and then kissed her cheek in an apparent happiness.

“See you in the class baby,” Kelly said, winking at her.

Archer walked up to her while the whole football team was watching everything closely. She threw a fast look at Alex, and noticed a smirk on his face.

“What?” Rose asked.

“I wanted to say that…”

But again, he was cut off with the second bell.

“Well… I’m sorry, but I got to go now.”

“But…” This time, Archer was cut off by Rose.

“Later Archer,” she said.

Waving him goodbye with a smile on her face, she ran down the hall to her class.

When she walked in, she was relieved to see that the teacher wasn’t there yet. So, she walked inside, and took a seat next to Kelly.

“So, you got a date huh?” Kelly said with a grin on her face.

“What? No, I didn’t,” Rose said, looking at Kelly with surprise.

“So you are telling me that Archer, and you weren’t flirting with each other out there?” Kelly said, raising her eyebrow at Rose.

“Flirting? Did you really think that we were flirting?” Rose asked Kelly in disbelief.

“Don’t act all innocent, looks like he likes you.”

“What?” Hearing that, Rose laughed loudly at her stupidity.

“What’s so funny Rose?” Mr. Smith, their English class teacher, asked.

“I’m sorry,” Rose said. She didn’t notice him coming in.

Mr. Smith nodded, and started the class. Kelly was smiling at her friend, who just shook her head in confusion.

During the break, Kelly, and Rose walked in the cafeteria, and took their regular seats.

They sat across each other, Kelly started typing on her phone, and Rose took out a pack of chips, and frozen grapes from her bag. She started eating while scrolling through her Instagram, and plugging her earphones on her ears.

Her hand kept on taking more chips as her eyes were still on her phone. At some point, when she reached for more, she didn’t find the bag of chips. She looked up, and she was met with Archer’s beautiful grey eyes staring at her.

“Hi,” Archer said.

Her heart was bouncing. She looked around at Kelly who was now kissing Alex, both in their own world, as the whole football team was already surrounding their table.

“Hi,” she said back.

She looked again at Archer only to find him still staring at her, so she smiled.

“What do you want to talk about?” Rose asked, trying to sound confident.

“Oh yeah about that, I wanted to ask you if you would… um… I mean…,” Archer was now red.

“Would I what?”

“Oh come on, Archer. Tell her!” Alex said, frustrated.

“Would you go to the dance with me?” Archer said. He was blushing especially that all his teammates were looking at them, including Kelly, all waiting for an answer.

“I… uh, I mean…,” Rose was so stunned that she couldn’t form a sentence.

“I am sorry. It’s okay if you don’t want to,” Archer said with a sad smile on his face.

“No, I mean yes, I will go to the dance with you,” she said, smiling brightly yet timidly.

Archer’s face lit up in a very charming smile.

The days went by.

Archer, and Rose were dating daily. He never missed an opportunity to show her how much he loved her, until she completely trusted him. That was why, one day before prom, she told him what exactly happened to her dad. Archer was terrified, and wanted to help her, but Kai, and Zach had other plans for him.

It was finally the prom morning. Rose got up early, took a bath, and sat on her bed excited. Suddenly, her body started to flip from one side to the other, her eyes went to the back of her head, her body flew to the ceiling, and came crashing down on her bed multiple times.

When she opened her eyes, she saw two figures in front of her; Kai, and Zach. They stared at her for a second, then disappeared.

She cried because of the pain she was feeling, as she laid on her bed crying until she fell asleep. When she woke up, she looked out the window, and saw that the sky was darkening a little. She only gained back her focus when her phone rang, and Kelly’s name popped up. Picking up the call, Kelly told her to get ready for the dance.

Rose got up to get ready. She took out a very beautiful glittered black dress. It was so tight that it showed all the details of her pretty figure.

At 7:00 pm, her doorbell rang. She snatched her purse, and phone before pulling the door open. In front of her, she saw a very handsome Archer with a black suit. His hair was combed back, and he was holding a bouquet of roses.

As he was giving her the bouquet, he kissed her cheek, and told her how beautiful she looked. So she told him how handsome he was looking as well. They took some pictures together before getting in his car, and drove to the prom.

As they entered the hall, they were astonished by the beautiful lighting, and the blasting music. For the first time since so long, she felt alive.

They met Alex, and Kelly. They both were looking really good. They didn’t accompany them for so long because they went to meet the football team.

Archer took Rose’s hand, and led her to the dance floor, as a slow song started playing.

He placed her hands on his shoulders, his one hand went to her waist as he pulled her closer, their foreheads were touching as they smiled at each other. The feeling was so real; it was love.

Archer kissed her passionately until she felt her knees weakening at the feeling of his lips. Her heart melted. She was happy, and alive when she was with him, she wanted it to last forever.

“I love you,” Archer said.

“I love you more,” Rose replied.

Suddenly, the music stopped. Gun fire was heard as two masked men in black came in through the doors, and randomly shot two of the students. The kids started running in all directions.

Archer took Rose’s hand, and started running alongside with every single student trying to save their own life. Rose looked behind in panic, and saw the two men walking towards them. She looked at their eyes, and it hit her.

She knew it was them, they wanted to take Archer’s life. Blood was everywhere on their path. Zach was shooting any student he saw.

Kai came with a big machinegun, and aimed it on Archer. Rose was scared, she was so terrified as they walked up to them. Archer somehow noticed her panic, so he pulled her closer to him.

“It’s them, Archer, it’s them. They are going to kill you,” Rose cried, while Archer dragged her away from them.

“Hey Rosa baby, we are going to live, okay? Nothing is going to happen to me, we just have to hide somewhere,” Archer said, looking around for a place to hide.

Taking her hand, he took a turn. The shooting, and screaming never ceased. It was literally a loud mess.

They both hid behind a wall in a small space. Rose knew it was the end, she knew what was coming next. She looked at Archer with crying eyes, and her heart ached.

“It’s my fault,” she cried, hugging him tightly.

“No, no Rose, it’s not your fault. They won’t find us here, don’t worry baby,” Archer said, holding her in his arms.

“No, you don’t understand Archer, they will find us. They are not alive, they are dead, they are ghosts, they live inside me Archer,” Rose said crying, her body was shaking with fear.

“Sh… Don’t make any noise,” Archer ran a hand on her back, trying to soothe her.

The sound of footsteps was getting closer, which terrified both of them. It was a matter of seconds before they stopped right in front of them.

“Come out Rosa, we know you’re in there,” Kai said.

Rose looked at Archer before standing up, and walking out. He was too late to get a hold of her, so he decided to go after her.

Rose, and Archer saw the two men. One of Zach’s eyes was hanging out of its socket, blood was dripping down his face. There was a hole in his head, his jaw was broken, his leg was shot, and his body had long blade marks. As their eyes met, he smiled at them.

Kai’s chest had six holes in it, blood was everywhere, and his upper body had been cut from the side. As they walked towards them, Archer took Rose’s hand, and stepped in front of her.

“This is how we took our last breath Rosa, now it’s his time,” Kai said, with his dangerous, and threatening voice, looking at Archer straight in the eyes.

“Please leave him alone, please,” Rose cried, begging them to spare his life.

Hearing her begging, they started laughing sarcastically. Rose held Archer’s hand in hers, then the clicking of the gun was heard. Zach stood in front of Archer as Kai came around, and pulled Rose to the side.

“No, no, no, please don’t, please stop,” she screamed at them.

“I love you Rose, I’ll save you,” Archer said.

“I love you Archer,” Rose said, then gunshots were heard.

Rose felt numb as she saw Archer getting shot eight times right in front of her.

***

She snapped out of her thoughts when she felt a hand on her shoulder shaking her. She looked around, and saw she was still in the coffee shop.

A guy came, and sat across her, his eyes were exactly like Archer’s.

“Are you okay?” He asked.

“Oh. Yeah, I’m fine. Thanks,” she said, looking at him.

“I’m Chris,” the guy said.

“I’m Rose,” she introduced herself, shaking his hand.

“So what are you doing here?” Chris asked.

“I just came to grab a quick breakfast,” she said, looking at the time. “Shit, I missed my lecture,” Rose panicked.

“It’s the same guy from the elevator, right?” she heard Kai’s voice in her head.

They both sat there talking about random stuff till the sunlight faded. When she saw it was getting dark, she said goodbye, and walked away.

***

It’s been a week since they first met. They got used to going out, and walking around the city together. She felt safe with him, just like she used to feel with Archer.

It was Saturday, and Chris had told her he would pick her up at 8:00 pm because he had to show her something.

“You have to stay away from him, he looks dangerous,” Kai said.

“Talking about dangerous, have you looked at yourself?” she replied.

It was 7:00 pm and she still had one hour, so she turned on the TV.

Flipping through the channels, she decided to watch a movie. It was true that her eyes were watching, but her mind was wandering off as she remembered the day they killed her father in front of her. She was just sixteen years old.

The voices of Kai, and Zach have been echoing in her mind since that day, shocking her over, and over at what they said, and did.

As they burnt her dad alive in front of her, they screamed at him, saying that he killed them. It was indeed true, her dad killed them the exact same day she was born.

Her dad ordered some of his men to kill them, they were his business partners.

He made his men beat them, shoot them, then left them for dead on the street. However, they weren’t. They were still breathing when someone saw them, and took them to the hospital, where Rose’s mom was giving birth.

At arrival, they breathed their last breath at the exact moment Rose was born, that was when their souls took control of her body.

Her door bell brought her out of her thoughts. She got up, and opened the door, only to see Chris standing in front of her, wearing a black suit.

“Oh! You didn’t tell me it was formal, just give me five minutes. Come in please,” she said.

“It’s okay, take your time,” Chris said, walking in.

Rose rushed to her room, looked through her closet. The only formal dress she had was that of her prom. Her eyes watered as she decided to wear it.

She walked out, and saw Chris setting on the couch. For some reason, he had tears in his eyes.

“You look beautiful,” he said, walking up to her, and kissing her cheek.

“Thanks. So, let’s go?” she said, taking this hand, and walking out.

They walked around a bit, still not knowing where they are heading too. She was getting curious.

“Where are we going?” Rose asked.

“You’ll find out soon,” Chris said, smiling at her.

They walked for half an hour then stopped in front of a cemetery.

“Why are we here?” Rose asked suspiciously.

“I told you not to go with this man,” Kai said, growling at her.

“We should kill him,” Zach said angrily.

“I want to introduce you to my mom,” Chris said, smiling at her.

“Oh!” she said, not knowing what to say more.

“Don’t go inside Rose,” Kai screamed in her head.

Chris took her hand, and stepped inside. Rose felt her knees getting weaker with every step she took further in the cemetery.

“Rose,” a deep voice came from the depth of the air.

Her heart started beating fast when she heard it.

She looked at Chris who was smiling sadly at her.

“Archer?” she said, looking at Chris.

“Get out of there Rose, now!” Kai said in an angry yet scared voice.

“Get out!” Zach screamed.

“Rose, I’m here to save you,” Rose watched Chris fall to the ground lifeless. There, right in front of her, Archer was standing.

“I’m here to end it all. Souls have no power when they are near their graves, that’s why I brought you here, and I’m going to take you with me,” Archer said, pulling out a gun, and handing it to her.

“No Rose, don’t do that, Rose…,” Kai begged.

“We are going to die,” Zach said, scared.

“Yes we are,” Rose said smiling, looking at the gun in her hand, she looked so happy. She was finally going to be free for the first time in her life.

“Thank you, Chris,” she said to the body lying on the ground before she shot herself in the head.

Finally she was set free.
